Un reciente informe reveló que Samsung y Apple dominaron las ventas durante el tercer trimestre del 2018. Sin embargo, la multinacional estadounidense ha recortado su previsión de ventasen un 10% y se hunde en bolsa debido a que las ventas del iPhone fueron inferiores a las esperadas. Como informan desde RT, Tim Cook, consejero delegado de Apple, indicó en una carta dirigida a los inversores que en los tres primeros meses de su nuevo ejercicio fiscal la compañía espera recaudar 84.000 millones de dólares. Una cifra más baja en comparación con las pronosticadas anteriormente, que giraban entorno a 89.000 y 93.000 millones.
La baja de las expectativas de ingresos para el primer trimestre de 2019 se debe, principalmente, a que las ventas del iPhone fueron inferiores a las esperadas y a la desaceleración económica en China. “Aunque anticipábamos algunos retos en mercados emergentes clave, no fuimos capaces de ver la magnitud de la desaceleración económica, particularmente en China. La mayoría de nuestra rebaja en cuanto a ingresos previstos ha ocurrido en China con respecto al iPhone, Mac e iPad”, señaló Cook.
Apple recorta su previsión de ventas y cae en bolsa
Cook también ha justificado que la fortaleza del dólar con respecto a otras divisas no ha hecho más que crear “vientos de cara” que están dificultando las ventas fuera de los Estados Unidos. Se espera que a principios de febrero Apple publique los resultados definitivos del primer trimestre fiscal de 2019, donde se incluyen los meses de octubre, noviembre y diciembre de 2018.
Las acciones de Apple también han sufrido una fuerte caída en bolsa tras publicarse la revisión de expectativas de ventas de la compañía. Las acciones se desplomaban un 7,20% hasta los 146,65 dólares por título en las operaciones electrónicas tras el cierre de los mercados.
Varios analistas aseguran que es probable que Apple deba volver a revisar a la baja sus previsiones de ingresos en función de la evolución de la demanda de sus productos en el mercado chino a lo largo de este año. Incluso estiman que esta situación no vaya a mejorar en el próximo mes de marzo.
