Letsgodigital dio a conocer a través de su web una nueva patente para un futuro dispositivo en el que estaría trabajando Huawei, en la cual pareciera contar con un mecanismo deslizante.
En la base de datos de la Oficina de Propiedad Intelectual Mundial se ha comprobado que existe dicha patente deslizante de Huawei. En esta se puede observar un dispositivo con una cámara dual, un flash y un sensor en la parte superior, el cual puede ocultarse deslizándose hacia abajo. En la parte posterior se hayan dos cámaras traseras, y en cuanto a escáner de huellas dactilares no se encuentra ninguno.

Zhao Ming, presidente de Honor, hizo declaraciones en donde él decía que “Honor también lanzara un teléfono plegable” (esto después del debut del Huawei X plegable).
