La versión PRO de los Huawei Mate 20, podría estrenar los lectores de huellas con ultrasonido fabricados por Qualcomm 92
Pudimos ver desde el lanzamiento del Huawei Mate 10 Pro, que el fabricante chino añadió un lector de huellas integrado en la pantalla. Se trataba de la primera generación de los sensores de Qualcomm basados en ultrasonidos. Sin embargo, Huawei decidió no apostarlo todo a esta tecnología y también se añadió un lector de huellas trasero.
A través de la ya conocida Gizchina leemos que el futuro Huawei Mate 20 Pro volvería a apostar por los lectores de huellas integrados en la pantalla y esta vez añadiría la segunda generación de los lectores basados en ultrasonidos de Qualcomm, que ofrecen una precisión en cristales de hasta 800 micrómetros, en vez de los 300 micrómetros. En pantallas OLED es de 1200 µm y en aluminio hasta 650 µm.
Huawei sería, hasta la llegada del Samsung Galaxy S10, el único fabricante en contar con esta tecnología. Se espera que durante el mes de Octubre podamos conocer el nuevo dispositivo y hasta principios del año que viene no tendríamos otro terminal con un lector de huellas así. Todo sea dicho, la información habla del modelo Pro, por lo que el Huawei Mate 20 estándar podría quedarse sin esta tecnología.

Hasta la fecha, hemos visto que el Honor 10 también contaba con un lector bajo el cristal frontal, justo debajo del botón home. Su funcionamiento era correcto, pero al final acabamos prefiriendo el reconocimiento facial. La tecnología de ultrasonidos todavía puede mejorar.
Entre las ventajas de estos lectores de huellas está el hecho de que están debajo del cristal y además pueden traspasar el líquido, por lo que pueden ser utilizados aunque tengamos las manos mojadas.
La segunda generación de estos lectores de huellas por ultrasonidos también reduce a la mitad la energía consumida por encender la pantalla. Uno de los problemas que hemos visto en ellos es que debemos estar en la pantalla de bloqueo para activarlo, con estas versiones simplemente mantendremos pulsado, nos llevará a la pantalla de bloqueo y después se desbloqueará el terminal.
Huawei ha realizado una fuerte apuesta con su P20 Pro y la triple cámara. No creemos que vuelvan a dar un salto enorme en fotografía, pero sí podríamos ver grandes avances en biometría.
