Motorola Moto Z4 solo recibirá Android Q, no Android R 100
Hubo un tiempo en que tener un dispositivo de Motorola era símbolo de tener un gran soporte pos venta en cuanto a actualizaciones. A día de hoy, bajo el ala de Lenovo, esto parece esfumarse cada vez más rápido. Recientemente se presentó el Moto Z4, un dispositivo de gama media o media-alta del fabricante. Un nuevo informe dice que el nuevo dispositivo solo recibirá una actualización importante del sistema operativo. Eso significa que recibiría la versión estable de Android Q dentro de unos cuantos meses, y eso sería todo en cuanto a actualizaciones grandes para este dispositivo.
Moto Z4 no recibirá más de una actualización grande
Para un teléfono que cuesta 499 dólares de salida, lo anterior resulta en algo bastante decepcionante. El sitio web de tecnología, Digital Trends, informó en su revisión del dispositivo que el fabricante del teléfono confirmó que solo está planeada una actualización importante del sistema operativo para el Moto Z de cuarta generación. Suponemos que al menos recibirá actualizaciones de software durante los meses siguiente. Sin embargo, no es algo que ayude a mitigar el efecto de no recibir más actualizaciones mayores.
En esta era el soporte de software es tan importante como la calidad de construcción de su dispositivo. De hecho es uno de los principales soportes de compañías como la actual Nokia por ejemplo. Por lo anterior, no tiene ningún sentido la decisión que ha tomado Motorola (o Lenovo). Lo que es más confuso es el hecho de que el Moto Z4 ejecuta una versión de Android casi stock, sin personalización, por lo que sería mucho más fácil implementar al menos dos actualizaciones.
Actualizaciones de seguridad bimensuales
Motorola dice que el Moto Z4 recibirá actualizaciones de seguridad bimensuales durante dos años, pero eso no es un gran consuelo como ya mencionamos anteriormente. Esta noticia pone al Moto Z4 como un dispositivo mucho más difícil de recomendar en el mercado Android actual. A día de hoy este teléfono competiría contra opciones como el GooglePixel 3a, que recibirá actualizaciones grandes hasta 2022, contando además con una cámara muy superior e incluso un precio más barato.
El Moto Z4 tiene sus fortalezas, e incluso supera al Pixel 3a en varias áreas. Sin embargo el soporte de software actualmente es uno de los aspectos a considerar en el mercado Android. Al haber tantas opciones, entre las cuales existen fabricantes que sí se comprometen con este apartado, además de ofrecer buenos productos (Nokia, Google, OnePlus, e incluso fabricantes chinos como Xiaomi o Huawei, entre otros) no vale la pena apostar por este dispositivo.
