El primer cambio es obvio y se trata del nombre. No es solo un ardid publicitario: los nuevos iPhone 8 y iPhone 8 Plus tienen suficientes cambios para considerarlos más que una simple actualización de hardware.
Sin duda, el cambio más notorio a simple vista es el cambio de materiales. Y es que los nuevos smartphones de Apple están fabricados en aluminio y cristal reforzado en la parte trasera, lo que asemeja su diseño a los iPhone 4 y 4s.
También en la parte estética sobresale dm cambio de colores, pues esta vez estarán disponibles en solo tres tonos: plata, gris espacial y oro.
Otro de los cambios que marcan la renovación de los nuevos equipos de Apple son nuevas capacidades de almacenamiento. Se duplican, de 32GB en el modelo de entrada a 64GB, y de 128GB a 256GB en el más equipado.
En el apartado visual también hay mejoras. Nos referimos a las pantallas de los nuevos iPhone 8 y iPhone 8 Plus, que aunque mantienen la misma resolución y tecnología que la generación anterior (LCD), incorporan True Tone para lograr mejores contrastes en diferentes condiciones de iluminación. Esta tecnología está presente en otros gadgets de Apple, como las tabletas iPad Pro.
No menos importante es el nuevo procesador A11 Bionic. Apple dijo que su nuevo chip integra un motor neuronal que procesa la información con mayor velocidad. Este mismo procesador es responsable de operar Face ID, la tecnología de reconocimiento facial que sustituye a Touch ID en el iPhone X.
Por último, una de las mejoras más relevantes es la incorporación de carga inalámbrica en los tres nuevos modelos. De acuerdo con Apple, a través de este método podrá cargarse el 50% de la batería en apenas 30 minutos. Esta característica, cabe mencionar, está ausente en la generación anterior.
¿Cuál comprar?
Si bien es evidente que los nuevos teléfonos de Apple cuentan con suficientes mejoras para justificar su compra, hay que señalar que la diferencia de precio entre la nueva y pasada generación es sustancial. De hecho, en el caso del iPhone X, el incremento es de 54% respecto del precio que tuvo el iPhone 7 más asequible (649 vs. 999 dolares).
